He’s wanted to be a policeman since the age of 9, and for 26 years Les realised his dream.
But that dream turned into a nightmare in April when he was dismissed from the force after a driving conviction. For five years Les was the Cookham Copper with a copshop down at Odney and a bike to go round the village – It’s high profile policing and Les was very good at it – he set up numerous neighbourhood and business watches; and he’s currently studying for a degree in community safety.
Away from work Les loves mountain biking and growing fuschias; but it’s hardly a consolation for a sorely missed out of work ex-policeman.
This is not a good year for Les. He did a lot for our village and we miss him.
