Cookham Jubilee

Jim Rosenthal

Jim and Chrissy moved to Cookham in 1988 when their son Tom was six months old. “It’s a great place for kids to grow up”.

Sport is Jim’s career. He’s been the face of ITV sport since 1980 presenting football, rugby, athletics and rowing. For the last 5 years Jim’s been hosting Formula 1 and he travels to Grand Prix circuits around the World; this summer he’s off to the World Cup too. “Its good to be close to motorways and airports without being on top of them”

So coming home to the wonderful bit of countryside in Cookham is a delight and the first thing he’ll do is set off running 7 miles along the river and through the Quarry woods; and afterwards pop in for a snack at the Peking Inn or the Bel and the Dragon!

Jim enjoys helping when he can at Cookham Dean football club and he and I share a passion for Oxford United. His dad took Jim to his first game at 9 years old. Does young Tom follow his lead? Course not – he’s an Arsenal nut.
